Pet stain treatment and odor removal

Special attention to pet stains, so spots and smells actually come out instead of coming back a week later.

What you get

  • Pre-inspection to find the spots, including the ones you cannot see
  • Pre-treatment and spot work before the full clean
  • Odor removal, not odor masking
  • Pet friendly, family friendly, EPA-certified solvents

Why the smell keeps coming back

A pet accident does not stay on the surface. Liquid runs down the carpet fiber, soaks into the backing, and often reaches the pad and the subfloor underneath. A surface clean takes the visible spot away and leaves the source in place, which is why the odor returns on the next warm, humid day.

Getting it out means finding the full extent of the contamination first — the wet spot on the surface is usually smaller than the spot underneath — and then treating it rather than covering it with fragrance.

Stains and odor are two different problems

The stain is the discoloration left in the fiber. The odor is a separate issue caused by what is left behind breaking down. Removing one does not automatically remove the other, and a job that only addresses the visible mark is not finished.

Everclean's carpet process includes a pre-cleaning inspection and a pre-treatment step specifically so problem spots are identified and worked before the room is cleaned, plus spot cleaning on stubborn stains.

Honest expectations

Some pet damage is permanent. If urine has been sitting long enough to bleach the dye out of the carpet or reach the subfloor, cleaning will remove the contamination and the odor, but the dye is not coming back. Anyone who promises otherwise before looking at the carpet has not looked at the carpet.

FAQ

Pet Stain & Odor Removal — common questions

Can you get dog and cat urine odor out of carpet?

Pet stains and odor removal are both part of Everclean's standard service features, and pet spots get special attention during the pre-inspection and pre-treatment steps. How complete the result is depends on how far the contamination has spread and how long it has been there — that gets assessed on site before the work begins.

Are the products safe for my pets?

The solvents are EPA certified, non-toxic, pet friendly and family friendly, and the high-temperature rinse pulls the residue back out of the fiber.

What if the pad and subfloor are affected?

That gets identified during the inspection. If contamination has gone past the carpet backing, Darrin will tell you what is realistically achievable rather than cleaning the surface and hoping.

Do you treat pet stains on furniture and rugs too?

Yes — carpet, area rugs and upholstery all get the same attention to spots and odor.
