Furniture holds more than carpet does
A sofa collects body oils, skin cells, pet dander, food, drink and everything that comes off clothing at the end of the day. Most of it sinks below the surface where a vacuum cannot reach. That is what dulls the color of the arms and headrests first, and it is also what you smell on a warm afternoon when nobody can figure out where the odor is coming from.
Cleaning upholstery does more than restore the look. It pulls that material out of the cushion, which extends the life of the fabric and makes the room easier to breathe in.
Different fabrics, different approach
Everclean cleans all types of upholstery fabric, including specialty materials like leather and microfiber. Each one needs a different tool, a different solution and a different amount of moisture — microfiber shows water rings if it is handled like a cotton blend, and leather needs a conditioner-safe approach rather than an extraction pass.
The walkthrough covers this before anything is cleaned. Darrin inspects the piece with you, identifies the problem areas, picks the tool and solution to match, cleans it, and then goes back over the results with you.
- Couches, sofas and sectionals
- Armchairs, recliners and ottomans
- Dining room seat cushions
- Office chairs and waiting-room seating
- Boat, RV and automobile interiors
Spots and stains
Spills that sit turn into permanent stains, because the material dries into the fiber and starts to break it down. Blotting early and getting it professionally cleaned before the season is out gives you the best chance of the piece coming back all the way.
FAQ
Upholstery & Leather Cleaning — common questions
How often should upholstery be cleaned?
Everclean recommends professional upholstery cleaning every 12–24 months. Waiting longer lets soil and body oils break the fibers down and discolor them, which is the point where cleaning stops fully reversing the damage.
Can you clean leather?
Yes. Leather and microfiber are both handled, using an approach suited to the material rather than a standard fabric extraction.
How long until we can sit on it again?
Everclean uses a quick-dry formula on upholstery specifically so furniture goes back into service sooner than carpet does. Darrin will give you a realistic window for your piece when he inspects it.
